Rajeev Gupta, DDS
Dr. Gupta received a master’s of science degree from Delhi University, India. He earned his DDS from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in 1997. He then went on to Staten Island University Hospital to complete a general practice residency. Continuing his education, in 2000, Dr. Gupta attended Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery to complete a two-year post-doctoral training program in the specialty of endodontics.
Dr. Gupta is an attending at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch and Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, where he teaches clinical endodontics to general practice dental residents.
He was named a Top Endodontist by New Jersey Monthly Magazine every year since 2010.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists. He served as a past president of the Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Society.
During his leisure hours, Dr. Gupta enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters. In addition, he is an avid runner who trains for an occasional marathon.
Michele Scrime, DMD
Dr. Michele Scrime holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Union College in Schenectady, NY (1989). She graduated magna cum laude from Tufts School of Dental Medicine, Boston, Massachusetts, where she was awarded her Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1993. There she was a member of the distinguished Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society.
She earned her post-doctoral certificate in endodontics from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, in Boston, Massachusetts. While at Harvard, she also earned a Masters Degree in Medical Science and took part in original research, which was awarded a patent in 2004. The patent, entitled “Characterization of an antibiotic impregnated delivery system as an intracanal medicament in endodontic therapy,” demonstrated that the delivery of an antibiotic in a small dosage directly into a tooth was as effective a treatment as a larger dosage ingested orally.
Upon completion of her studies in Boston, Dr. Scrime returned to her home state of New Jersey, and has since been in private practice specializing in endodontics.
Dr. Scrime is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, New Jersey Dental Association, and the Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Society. She has lectured for the Union College Pre-Medical Society, the Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Assisting Society, and was named a Top Endodontist by New Jersey Monthly Magazine every year since 2010.
During her leisure hours, Dr. Scrime enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, and traveling, both here and abroad.
Scott Micallef, DMD
Dr. Micallef joined Shore Endodontics in 2021. He was born and raised in New Jersey, along the “Jersey shore”. He is the oldest of four boys and a first generation Dentist / Endodontist. Dr. Micallef is committed to providing the highest quality endodontic care and is extremely excited to serve the communities he grew up in.
Dr. Micallef received his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in biology from Rowan University. After graduation, Dr. Micallef attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA, for both his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) and his specialty certificate in Endodontics. While at Tufts, Dr. Micallef was recognized for his academic achievements by being named to the Dean’s list and was a recipient of the Lester P Goldsmith Endowed Prize Fund in Endodontics, Merit Scholarship, and American Dental Partners Foundation Scholarship.
Dr. Micallef is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS), the Massachusetts Association of Endodontists (MAE), and the New Jersey Dental Association (NJDA.
Dr. Micallef enjoys spending time with his wife and their dogs when he is not working. In addition, he is an automotive enthusiast and enjoys working out and playing golf.
Rachel Halpern, DDS
Dr. Rachel Halpern graduated summa cum laude from Muhlenberg College with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Mathematics. She then completed her dental training from the prestigious Columbia University College of Dental Medicine where she received her D.D.S. degree, graduating with honors and awards including the American Association of Endodontics Award and The International Congress of Oral Implantologists Dentsply Pre-Doctoral Student Achievement Award.
After dental school, Dr. Halpern completed a 1-year general practice residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, NY where she received extensive training in dental trauma and surgical techniques. She then completed her 2-year specialty training in Endodontics at New York University College of Dentistry. While at NYU, Dr. Halpern was actively involved in research relating to specific biomarkers involved in Invasive Cervical Resorption. Her research was selected to be presented at the American Association of Endodontists Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, where her poster presentation achieved national recognition and won the resident achievement award.
Dr. Halpern’s professional affiliations include the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, and the Alpha Omega Dental Society. Dr. Halpern is extremely passionate about endodontics and enjoys saving teeth while relieving those in pain.
Dr. Halpern grew up in West Long Branch, NJ and is thrilled to be back to serve her communities. In her free time, Dr. Halpern enjoys fitness, traveling, baking, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
